🔴 Current Initiative – Protect Ocean Drive & the Art Deco Historic District

Proposed High-Rise Tower at 1501 Collins Avenue

Our current priority is to oppose the proposed high-rise tower at 1501 Collins Avenue.

This project raises serious concerns regarding residents’ quality of life, neighborhood scale, traffic and congestion, shadowing, and its potential impact on the Art Deco Historic District and surrounding public spaces.

Through a community petition, we are calling for responsible development that respects the character, livability, and heritage of Ocean Drive and South Beach.

Boardwalk Pedestrian Safety & Mobility

Our current initiative focuses on pedestrian safety along the South Beach Boardwalk.

Originally designed as a pedestrian promenade, the Boardwalk now experiences significant congestion from bicycles and other wheeled devices, creating safety concerns for pedestrians, including residents, seniors, and visitors.

Through a new community petition, we are calling for:

  • Clear and enforceable rules prioritizing pedestrian safety
  • Organized and time-based mobility solutions for bicycles and similar devices
  • Improved signage and enforcement to reduce conflicts and accidents

Our objective is to restore the Boardwalk’s primary function as a safe and accessible pedestrian space while maintaining reasonable and balanced mobility solutions.

Our commitment

We remain committed to working constructively with the City of Miami Beach, residents, and local stakeholders to develop practical, transparent, and sustainable solutions that serve the long-term interests of the community.
